WishDoit Aerial Prism
This RM homage from Chinese bran Wishdoit is a large chunk of steel and skeletonized movement. The look is divisive, but if you like what you see, should you get one of these?
Design
Wishdoit haven’t pushed any boundaries here. They have put one of Richard Milles oversized and somewhat gaudy watches through a photocopier, before making it much mora affordable. If you are one of those people who think RM watches look good, you’ll think the same about this one. Personally, however, I am not convinced. I just cant seem to think of any situation where I will wear a watch like this.
The skeleton dial, however, looks great. The movement is shown off very well. Revealing the inner workings of the Chinese movement that I will talk more about later.
Movement
Whenever the manufacturer refuses to name their movement, I get very skeptical. The same is the case her, Wishdoit have chosen to only call their movement a “automatic mechanical movement.” What are they hiding? Apparently, 80 hours of power reserve and a frequency of 28 800 VPH. Sounds good, but I have absolutely no reason to believe that this is anything more than a run of the mill, low-quality movement. Not something I would trust.
Build quality
The case work and finishing of the Aerial Prism, seems to be very good. No complaints.
Strap
The rubber strap is very soft and flexible. It looks good and feels good on wrist. This is particularly important with this style of watch, as you will be hard pressed to find a fitting replacement strap.
X-factor
The x-factor of this watch is decided purely by your sense of style. If you like RM, and you are comfortable wearing a homage, go ahead. You are going to love it. If you don’t like RM, or you don’t do homages, stay as far away as possible.
